Everyone knows Leonardo da Vinci, but what about Artemisia Gentileschi, the first woman painter to join the Accademia? Or Giuseppe Castiglione, the Italian missionary who became a painter at the Chinese imperial court?

In Beyond Art History, students will journey through both the familiar and the overlooked corners of art history. Through lectures and discussions, they’ll gain a broader understanding of how art has been shaped by diverse voices, cultures, and contexts.

Goal: To expand students’ worldviews, deepen their appreciation of art, and spark curiosity about the many stories behind the masterpieces.

Sessions:

Fall (Sep – Nov): Famous & Forgotten Artists
Winter (Dec. – Feb.): Art Across Cultures
Spring (Mar – Jun.): Hidden Narratives in Art

September 1 – Labor Day
October 31 – Halloween
November 26–30 – Thanksgiving Break
December 22–31 – Christmas Break
January 1–5 – New Year Break
March 30 – April 5 – Spring Break

Payment and Class Policy

Monthly Payment: Tuition is auto-charged each month on the same date (based on your first payment).
Cancel or Pause: If you’d like to pause or cancel, please let us know before the billing date, so the next month’s fee won’t be charged.
Missing a Class: If your child can’t make it, please tell us before class starts. We’ll add the value as store credit, which you can use for future classes or purchases at our store.
No-Show: If we don’t get notice in advance, the absence will count as a no-show and no credit will be given.
Schedule: Classes run from September 2025 to June 2026.
